while we're on the subject of dictionarys does anyone know a good language converter, you know, you type something in English and press convert and it comes out in German?

Seriously, of course it depends on what you need it for, if it's just to make some simple sentences clear to a foreign friend on a rudimentary level, you could try Babelfish or something, but it isn't for nothing that people need to study long and hard to become translators. It's an art and a science rolled into one and much more difficult than most people know. There are no free computerised translators that are any good, expect for playing fun games (put something in and see what comes out). [ 04-22-2004, 12:23 PM: Message edited by: Melusine ]

well i can talk reasonably good/fluent German, but I thought it might be a nice tool to have, to improve some sentences, and find out new words etc.

The closest you'll get to that is an online German Dictionary. I use the one linked you to...works pretty well in my experience.
