I am not even close to getting this item yet, I'm still having fun wandering around whacking things in Chapter 2. Having been through this game once before however, (Before adding TOB to be precise) I have one fact and a question.

The fact is it doesn't deflect everything back at the attacking mage. I put it on Minsc to clear out the beholder city in the under dark and what happened. After having several beholders disintegrate themselves, stone themselves, and do other nasties, an elder orb cast imprisonment and Minsc was gone. Maze and imprisonment do actually work against this cloak (in SOA).

Now the question. Since I have TOB now installed and I have even started as a wild mage which only comes with the TOB addition does Cloak of mirrors still work as it used to or does it work as people say it works in TOB. If it works only like a globe of invulnerability and not send the spell back at the caster doesn't that uncheese it alittle.

Throne of Bhaal does change the way the CoM works, yes. In each case it doens't bounce back all spells anymore. Check the README file, I'm pretty sure it tells you what has changed in there.

The SOA cloak is permanant spell turning, the TOB cloak permanant spell deflection. Or is that the other way around? Anyway, the important thing is that the TOB cloak of mirroring makes you immune to all spells, but doesn't launch them back. This was a half-arsed attempt at re-balancing it.
