Erm... Ne comprendo??? Guess you misunderstand, that was actually something positive, Vic. Myth Drannor is just one of the few YaBB based boards I know of which are able to visit in guest mode, unlike MH and CRC; I actually think the "no guests allowed" thing was a bit sad, and that's what the smiley was for, not for your board... Get it now?
So put aside those knives of yours and get rid of that bloodthirsty look on your face.

And Lav, I'm on my way to bed now, but erm, I will run MSN tomorrow morning I guess. If you can't catch me online, you could also send out an e-mail, of course.

Anyway, I have a prehacked version of Ikonboard 2 for you, with polls, expandable forums, maintenance mode, memberlist and several other hacks pre-installed. I could install that one for you, only takes about 20 minutes I think to get it working (I have set up many more ikonboards in the past ) so I guess I could set it up for you. I hardly use MSN though, so just give a signal when you're online. I will need ftp info and the url of the site; once it's set up, I will explain some standard things as how to add forums, change colours, banners etc. Let me know what you think and when you're online. I'm at CET (Central European Time) by the way.

Grojlach are you saying you have a prehacked IkonBoard 2 you have set up for Lavindathar?
If this is the case and you can do the same for me in anyway
or help me out with advice on how to get something better than the free xorbit Then send me an email thanx

I haven't done it yet... If you're curious about what hacks I'm talking about, look at the prehacked board here.
Anyways, you will need a server with cgi and perl support, which is the biggest problem if you don't have a creditcard or any money to spend...

Well I do have money and funny enough i have a credit card on the way. But I think Ill stay with the free forum for awhile and see if I get enough members to make it worth getting a server and a proper board
How much does cgi, perl support cost?

if you're looking for something stable, you could do with something like PHPWebhosting, for example... That's about 10 dollars a month. There are perhaps better offers around, or even free servers, but sooner or later they get into trouble with too many people interested in getting an account. And whatever you do, don't take Hypermart. The server was completely free, very fast and extremely stable, but I have seen them delete accounts for no apparent reasons at all. A webmaster got a warning that he had 48 hours to make a backup of his board because he was violating some rule that wasn't making any sense, and 10 minutes (!) after the e-mail was sent, his board was deleted... Pretty cruel.

Edit: sorry, wrong url.

Another turning point,
A fork stuck in the road,
dum de dum dum dum dum do.
So make the best of this task and dont ask why,
Its not a question but a lesson learned in time.
Its something unpredictabe
But in the end its right.
I hope you have the time of your life
