k, may be spoilers, may not be. consider yourself warned

The mummy doesn't seem to be a part of any quest or any storyline. Since I'm a fighter I just hack and slash him to death. very easy.

I remember this area. The mummy wasn't difficult as long as you don't wander to far in to the cave, Keep the battle near the entrance and gradually work your way in. I actually used arrows on the mummy (Ranger) so he did not even get near me. Fear is the worst annoyance. As far as I could tell this area has no real significance except for some items and extra exp.
