I just finished reading this book from Robert Asprin. I had neer heard of him, but I got this old book for free, and it seemed interesting, so I read it.
I liked it. It's not the kind of book I usually read. It's light/humorous fantasy. Basically, it's the story of a magician's apprentince. The guy is a thief wanting to learn magic to help his thieving carrer, but then his mentor get killed by an assasin while summoning a demon. Both he and the demon are stuck together and need to stop the guy who sent the assasin. Has anyone else read it?

It's been several years, but I read 3 or 4 of the Myth books -- that's all there were at the time -- and enjoyed every one of them. I think there are 9 or 10 books now.

Yes, it's "Another Fine Myth." Seriously, that is the title. Robert Asprin's titles in this series are all play-on-words. He even has a smattering of puns throughout.

He wrote a number of them about ten or fifteen years ago, and has just started writing them again, in conjunction with Jodi Lynn Nye. They are very tongue in cheek, often humorous, and loaded with puns.
I especially like the quotes at the start of each chapter. He's got another series that's also enjoyable... the intergalactic military unit known as Phule's Company. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go join Chumley for a spot of tea....
