Futile.
No matter what - everything is stacked against us. No matter what we do to try and even this out, we just place more and more things on top of the pile that are just waiting to collapse. Time to go back to living in caves, methinks

Children.
No matter how powerful we might be, we have yet to learn that power comes with responsibility. We have yet to learn that the Earth is much older than mankind, and that much was achieved without humanity. We're still children, immature, tampering with things we dont have control over, and trying to patch together our wrongs after we've done them. We're too young to be really wise, too powerful to be really humble, too impulsive to be really careful. We have much to learn yet, so we really cant be counted as adults in the grand scheme of things. In my opinion humanity has not matured yet, scientifically, and as a species.
