Which makes him much easier to eat I imagine. Or was that not the point... I am confused... this whole thread is quite confusing actually. I am going for a lie down.

whether or not the sides are identical is beside the point, the front is determined by the spatial orientation of the held taco in relation to the mouth. yes, this does mean that an ungrabbed taco (still on the plate, or in the packaging), has no front or back side, but the front is now determined before biting, therefore neatly avoiding the "not allowed to bite the back" scenario mentioned above. to determing front or back prior to this point is to invoke quantum theory which states it is both (or neither) at the same time. this state collapses upon grabbing the taco, leaving the front as the side it is easiest to bite into first - ie the one you can bite without unneccesary rotation of the taco.

Yeah, what he said (you kinda lost me with the spatial orientation stuff)

Its like the experiment with cats in boxes. Put a cat in a box with some poisoned food, then seal it up. Whilst the box is closed the cat is in a state of both life and death as there is inherent uncertainty regarding its status. The only way this field of uncertainty can be collapsed is by opening the box and thereby establishing that the cat is either alive or dead. Whilst the box is closed the cat is technically neither.

Ouch! My head...

Couldn't you just shake the box and listen for hissing sounds? The box would remain closed then.

Doesn't everyone know that the front side of a taco is slightly shorter than the backside??
I thought this was common knowledge...
I also said this in the first thread, so I don't know why you made a new one

I give up on the taco subject, no one knows the answer. So I'll just guess that the front side is the side you pick, since no one has a logical reason for it.

Front or back, it shouldn't matter as long as you know the difference bewteen the top and the bottom...never eat your taco with the bottom on the top.

This is a good example of why chaos theory is necessary to describe the world. A taco is a fractal object, not describable in Euclidean geometric terms, so, as Durwyn says, it is a meaningless discussion, . Also, Melusine, no actual cats were killed in this experiment.
