I started playing Fable a few days ago, and I have a couple of questions. I read the manual, but it doesn't really tell much. When it comes to Scariness, is less or more better? Or is the middle best? My character had a haircut (he is now bald ), but now everybody's pointing and laughing at him. I thought that it'd be better if he wouldn't be as scary. Are they maybe laughing at him because he's not scary enough?

Also, a woman had a heart above her head (right after he showed off the trophy), so I made him flirt a bit. But after a couple of moments, the heart disappeared and she also pointed and laughed. Do hearts stay there only for a while? And is more scariness or less scariness better for flirting?

Thanks for the answers.

The more scary you are, the more afraid they will be of you, a really high scaryness will make the people cower un fear and run away from you, a really low score will make everyone fall in love with you (even the men ) and worship you. I think a score in teh middle meean people think you are a loser.
Hearts should stay there forever and get bigger unless you do something to "Piss them off" like commiting a crime in front of them or being too stupid looking.

But the scariness right now is -58, and he's quote attractive (around +80 I think). But people keep pointing and laughing at him! Is it possible he's not scary enough, so they think he's harmelss and are mocking him?

"There goes the Chicken Chaser! Look at the chicken run!" It cracks me up every time. It's even funnier now that they point and laugh too.

I never kicked any chicken and they still call me Chicken Chaser. Maybe that's a standard thing you start with. Whisper keeps calling the character farmboy, so maybe that's why they call you that... Unless running past the chicken and accidentally running into it means kicking it?

Btw, does anybody have any tips on how not to accidentaly hurt any traders during fights? I always end up hurting them while I'm fighting people. They just always get in the way... I'm playing a good character, so that's annoying. I always have to run after them (because they're afraid of me and run away) and apologise so that they stop running...

Yeah, im pretty sure you get called chiken chaser wether you kick them or not.
And the way I stopped hurting the traders was to stop using the targeting button, hich at first was hard, but once I got into it, it bacame really easy, nad I was able to take on multiple enemies at once
