Thanks so much all of you, you have no idea how much it means
I've been feeling horrible about it, not at all for my own sake but because I cannot stop thinking of my nephew's girlfriend, his two little children and his parents and brother! The funeral was very beautiful and stressed the beauty and fullness of his life, rather than the grief of his departure (he died while on vacation to Australia, an unexplained car accident...he was to return to his family in only two weeks ) The mother really involved the children in it, I was really impressed by the way she dealt with it. At least the little ones won't be traumatised later.
For me, it is just horrible because like LS said, it has been the third death in a short time, though I only mentioned this in passing on the board. While I never was extremely close to my nephew, it's just the cumulative grief that I hadn't yet dealt with that makes this so hard. First, my grandmother, who was still so wonderfully fit and clever and beautiful, died totally unexpected in her sleep; she was 86. Then my uncle, one of the most fun-loving persons ever, found he couldn't deal with the deaths of both his mother and his mother-in law, drowned himself at the age of 54. Now my nephew dies in an accident when he was only 31. It seems as if it went from bad to worse (well, I actually mourn my grandmother most, but she died peacefully, and after that it just becomes more and more violent and unfair)
Whew...that was good to get off my chest...no need to reply folks, just using the board to finally vent my thoughts on this
Thank you all again for your sweetness and kindness!
