Dwarves crush or Elves rule

Elves aren't specialist fighters because they can cast magic user spells. While i appreciate the fun of charging in wearing full plate and swinging an axe, i get more enjoyment from lobbing a couple of fireballs at my foes then casting a series of spells which weaken my foes so i can laugh as i watch them die. (see Homer Simpson sense of humour) Or the elven ranger, stalking my foes and killing them one by one. It's not the same thrill as charging 30 orcs while singing battle cries but that's what i enjoy. It's not the beauty aspects of elves rather their methods that i enjoy, but each to their own i guess.... cheers

Ps. About the reproductive cycles of elves, they take that long because they can live for potentialy a thousand years. Dwaves with a some what shorter life span produce children somewhat faster but even they have problems the same as elves. Partly due to orcs and the like but also because humans breed so much faster. Therefore all the demihuman races are in decline in almost all campaign worlds.

They cannot stand up to the best race in the game, GNOMES. Laugh while you can, because my thief/illusionist is the best character in the game. All the gnomes theifiness and specialist mage to boot.

Har! Gnomes do make good thief/illusionists, but they can't match the dwarf in melee combat...and they aren't as heavy as dwarves(Huge weight means stability when fighting giants...yes, I know, the bonuses are the same for both races, but dwarf sounds better than gnome).

Gnomes are better at magic, but dwarves are better at combat. I am a combat man. Combat is everything, magic is but a peripheral...(but does not mean unnecessary).
