I've got an ADSL connection too, and I was slowed down as well, it was BAD, dump some other features/hacks and bring back who's online, it's annoying waiting for a response to a post from someone and not even knowing if they're on.

I have ADSL too, and the board was abysmally slow!!
Personally I can live without the Who's Online function, especially the new one which gave much to much detail IMHO. It's been known to happen on other boards that people WERE stalked through the online function too. So for me, it's not really necessary.
It would be nice to see who's online, but without specifics (board, thread) being given. Personally I'd much rather get the smileysback

Oh geez, I know.. I MISS the Smileys the most! , I am looking for a mod for it now.. I AM adding the Ranks mod in, found one that is good. this new UBB has totally new code, and is much harder to 'hack' the source code--have to do it in many more files now

Who's Online WILL be back, but ONLY when they work out that slow bug. I too had slowness BAD.

I liked the who's online function a lot. It was nice to see who was online when i got on in the middle of the school day. You know what? For me the internet didn't slow down at all. I guess that's because it's always a little slow over here...
