HELLO and thanks for the pep talk!

Yeah well, I'm sorry. Z mailed me the forms that would qualify me as a great person but I just havn't got around to filling them out yet. Is it my fault that my life is so busy that I can't fill out a simple form? I think not!

things will get out of hand for a little more while...
but I hope things will be taken into PM. this board is making me nervous.... bad memories of another forum.

so let us post new threads about good things, serious dicussions, discuss love and life, etc. to bump the confrontations off the top

and hope the board continues on

It will Adam!

It's sad when people outgrow one another, but it happens to friends and lovers in RL all the time. Sometimes people part peacefully, but other times it's a hurtful parting.

Usually the best thing to do is move on, since there is really nothing good that can come from a "hurt the one you used to care for" mentality.

This whole thing worries me a lot. I understand perfectly that it is the moderators prerogative to ban whoever the hell they like, for whatever reason they like, but...

Well, lets not forget that some people are no longer in the forum who the forum was probably quite lucky to have here. I don't like simply saying that they "grew apart" from the forum, or words to that effect, because it simply isn't true. I haven't been around for a while, and then when I come back its not the people that have changed, its the board I knew them from. There is a new generation of people on IW, sure, but its not like they were somehow making it impossible for people like Neb, Azure, and Caleb, to post here. I don't think that "out with the old and in with the new" holds a great deal of water, personally.

Ok, so I understand the thinking behind the principle "If you don't like it, you can leave". But lets not forget that if we do hold true to that then some people, as it would appear to be the case, will actually not be here anymore. And maybe that might not be a good thing in all cases. This may be a benevolent dictatorship, but ultimately I was led to understand this forum existed for the benefit of its members, even if they are invited into the house, so to speak. That doesn't mean members have a free reign in my view, far from it, but we can't just tell people to leave if they don't like it and expect the place to be quite the same anymore.

Barry, it's really always been this way. People like it here or they don't, and if they don't like it, or have grown not to like, there really is no point in staying.

You have been away and so have missed quite a bit. Check out the Respect Moderators threads(one by Ziroc and another by Memnoch) and the "ping" and "pong" series. The rudeness runs rampant.

We aren't talking about banishments for dislike of political opinions, we are talking about rude comments made towards mods and Ziroc. Things said to Ziroc in his own forum about his decisions to run his forum. Check out the locked poll by Azure, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Would you allow someone to come into your house and talk to you or your family that way? Of course you wouldn't. While you may want guests to come over and have a good time; you wouldn't let them tell you how you should run your house.

Barry you get along just fine here despite not conforming to the POVs that some say are mandated by IW. You disagree and make good points. You debate, and you argue, but you are always respectful of those you disagree with. That doesn't mean you're kissing anyone's butt, does it? Of course it doesn't. It means you're being a nice guy with a different opinion who's had no trouble following the rules here.

Ziroc and the mod's role has not changed in the last two years, but some people have decided they don't want to follow the rules and the management's interpretation or enforcement of them.

It's sad to see some go, but if they didn't resort to name calling or refusal to follow the rules....

EDIT - Barry check your PMs.
