I just wondered whether anyone has actually used the bloody gore spell (the fiendcraft storm spell). I've never had to use it, and have been afraid of using it because i think the manual says it can be fatal to the spellcaster.

Plus, I've never had to use it

Just wondering....

Cheers,

Moiraine Sedai

I tried the spell on the Traveller in Valeia. Yes, it works but the price is unbearable. You must be a former solo barbarian with 600 or so HPs. You will die otherwise.
Summary: The spell is worthless. Casting it on weak enemies is nonsense. Casting it on strong enemies is almost impossible. Note also that the monsters can be immune or resistant to the spell. If it is the case then you kill yourself almost surely even if you have hundreds of HPs.

radek's right. the spell drains away ur hp to do damage, so if u use it on resistant monsters you are just sending ur character to hell........
PLUS, the spell doesnt actually kill you, it juz leaves you with 1 hp at the end, ready to die if you are wearing any cursed equipment!

On the other hand it can be quite useful when situated in otherwise lost battles. Especially if one has another character standing by with the restore health spell.
