Hello fellow gamers!
I really want to play a multiplayer game online, where do I need to start?

[cop out]
Try NWN, its a much better multiplayer game than BG2 is. [/cop out] Sigh. Determined to go for a multi of BG2 then? Right. First up, if you have a firewall and/or router you will need to open ports and set up port forwarding. The numbers you need are in the readme for BG2, and your manual should cover the basic methods. Second, you need to know the IP address of the host. Ip address is a set of numbers that uniquely identifies a computer on the network. You can find it by going to a command prompt and typing: ipconfig /a Unless you have a router in which case the needed IP is found in the router configuration screen. Of course, if your connection to someone else behind the same router, you should use the local IP instead of the internet IP. Confused yet? Anyway, when you have that, simply set up the host to use TCP/IP, then start up the client(s) and connect them to your IP using the TCP/IP protocol.

If I may make a suggestion...
Dundee, seeing how lately many questions were asked about the multiplayer games, how about adding info about playing multiplayer in that sticky thread?
