Actually some of us have heard TOO MUCH of Pink Floyd! The radio is unrelenting in wearing them out. Sure I had some Pink Floyd albums years ago and enjoyed them a lot! I saw them in concert at Mile High Stadium and they were awesome! But now I'm so utterly sick of them I usually switch the station. Along with a lot of other bands, including Led Zepplin, Rolling Stone, The Who, Aerosmith, Van Halen,Lynyrd Skynyrd, well you get the picture. Unless the band sold 10 million albums they arent going to get played on todays corporate radio. So they wear the songs by the major bands out. It gets tedious...

strange you should mention these great bands, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd along with ACDC and Thin Lizy are my all time favourites. I have had many songs by each band stuck in my head for long periods at some point. Lately I keep finding myself humming or singing Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild.

TOO MUCH You can never have too much of a good thing. Thats like saying you have too much air to breathe. OR saying you have too much money.

After twenty years of repetition to me they are worn out. Sorry Try some old stuff you dont hear on the radio. Try this, go buy this cd-Robin Trower, Bridge of Sighs. You may or not have heard of him. The songs from that havent been played into the dirt. Give him a try.

What are some of the best Pink Floyd songs? I've rarely heard them and I just started downloading about 20, but what are some of the best?

Hunter - I don't know what you would think of me, most of the music I like was made before I was born! (Soul, Motown, Ska). Hey, you must be younger than I thought anyway.
I am as old as the hills!! Its cool you like older music Epona. I wont hold it against you. As for me I am into Industrial music, most of which has been made after 1980. Unfortunately just like the radio most nightclubs that play industrial music play the same 10 songs over and over again. The monotony is appaling, especialy since most labels that produce industrial music spit out 5 or 6 new CD's a month. I will admit to loveing one fairly old band though. My guilty pleasure music is Operation Ivy.Its old , but it still kicks out the hard jams.

Do they still have that one armed drummer? I didn't know they were still putting out music. It just leaves me with one question ot ask. WHY?
Yep, the drummer is still around. As for the second question, the answer is easy; Cash. Listening to the album confirms it. Almost every song on the album is a Top 40 made-for-radio watery ballad (imagine Westlife with instruments). Granted they have had proven success with ballads in their previous hits but the ones on this album are sub par. You won't find anything comparable to say 'Two Steps Behind' or 'When Love and Hate Collide' The guitar pieces are boring and lack that 'Ooomph' and the lyrics are quite shallow. Everything about the album screams SELLOUT. Apparently they teamed up with the producer who worked with Britney Spears and numerous boybands. Unforgivable. Give this album a miss.

I'm sorry to everyone who I upset with my Pink Floyd comment
But I really don't like them and never have.
I have heard plenty, my ex was into them bigtime and we lived together for 11 years. Used to drive me up the wall - not just Pink Floyd, he was into Yes and Gong too (fecking hippie) and also Rockabilly (ehem... fecking rockabilly, to this day I take the piss out of the fact he used to have a quiff!). I'm not questioning Pink Floyd's talent at all, I can dislike certain music and still appreciate the skill that went into writing/performing/producing it.
