Wasn't coffee for me... last night we tried a home mix that we saw in a restaurant. Hot chocolate mixed with a bit of Kahlua and Grand Marnier.

Apparently, the one I mixed for my wife was a *wee* bit too strong... The other one was okay, though.

Interestingly, I noted that some of the liquor in my liquor cabinet has been there a while. I've got a bottle of Grand Marnier that I received back in 1988... never been opened.

Still. 'Cause there was another bottle of it that was opened... and the rest got poured into the sink last night.

Did you know that if you leave a bottle of GM for too long, the cork inside can simply disintegrate when you try to open it? Me neither... and now we both do

Be interesting to see what happens when we open the other big bottle. It may or may not be drinkable.

Also found another bottle of Kahlua (bummer, since I just bought a fresh one) and two bottles of rum left over from our honeymoon... nearly 16 years ago.

Wow.

Oh my! I'm guessing you may not want to drink GM with cork in it... and I'm not a fan of Kahlua so I can't tell you how it ages... but not sure I'd want to find out!

I filtered out the cork, to be sure... but at that point, I only had one other GM alternative

The kahlua wasn't bad... not bad at all...

Wow, I just got back from the best hockey game I have ever seen. It was 1-1 after the second period, 3-3 after the third, and the winner wasn't scored until 10 minutes into the fourth overtime!! Wide open, great game, the way hockey was meant to be.

Bungleau, really, the secret is to drink it all at once - that way you don't taste the cork, and if you do, you don't care!

Ack! My husband drove my car on the weekend and my radio is on his favorite country station.....which is ok with me, but this morning just as I was arriving at work they played a song that has moved into my head and won't leave! And to make matters worse, it's a silly one that I can't actually sing at my desk without getting a whole lotta stares! ROTFL

This is that song (Joe Nichols)

SHE SAID i'M GOING OUT WITH MY GIRLFRIENDS
MAGUARITAS AT THE HOLIDAY INN
OH MERCY...MY ONLY THOUGHT
WAS TEQUILA MAKES HER CLOTHES FALL OFF

I TOLD HER PUT AN EXTRA LAYER ON
I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SHE DRINKS PATRON
HER CLOSETS MISSING HALF THE THINGS SHE BOUGHT
TEQUILA MAKES HER CLOTHES FALL OFF

(CHORUS)....SHE'LL START BY KICKING OUT OF HER SHOES
LOSE AN EARRING IN HER DRINK
LEAVE HER JACKET IN THE BATH ROOM STALL
DROP A CONTACT DOWN THE SINK

THEM PANTYHOSE AIN'T GONNA LAST TOO LONG
IF THE D J PUTS BON JOVI ON
SHE MIGHT COME HOME IN A TABLECLOTH
TEQUILA MAKES HER CLOTHES FALL OFF

SOLO

SHE CAN HANDLE ANY CHAMPAIGNE BRUNCH
BRIDAL SHOWER WITH BACARDI PUNCH
JELLO SHOOTERS FULL OF SMIRNOFF... BUT TEQUILA MAKES HER CLOTHES FALL OFF

CHORUS

SHE DON'T MEAN NOTHING
SHE'S JUST HAVING FUN
TOMORROW SHE'LL SAY
OH WHAT HAVE I DONE
HER FRIENDS WILL JOKE ABOUT THE STUFF SHE LOST
CAUSE TEQUILA MAKES HER CLOTHES FALL OFF

Pssst...Cloudy: we're Wednesday!

Long time no post in the café for me. Should currently be working on a project, but am taking a short break. (on that note, anyone with Linux multitasking skills care to give me a hand? )

I've been okay otherwise, mostly kidnapped by real life, but still finding some time to take part in the rp forum (you know the one you rarely even scroll down to people )

Did we miss Someguy's birthday?

Hey everyone, was out of net commission at work for a few days, Verizon sucks LOL. Ooooh how I hate the new thing they have going now, where instead of "press this, press that", it's now you having to talk to the recorded voice. Gawd I'd rather hit the buttons than talk words to this stupid recording! At one point I said "No" to a question, and I guess my very slight country accent must have done something, cause it said "I'm sorry, I could not understand your answer, please repeat it." NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I said then. It got it that time. Sheesh.

Why can't we just get actual live humans anymore?!

Hi Dplax, ok, it's Thursday now....for me, anyway! LOL Not quite Friday over your way yet, though, methinks!
Ilander...ugh...hope it's just a 24 hr bug and not the flu or anything like that!

LadyZ, ROTFL! HAHAHA... You should have asked it 'What part of NO didn't you understand?'
