Wasn't coffee for me... last night we tried a home mix that we saw in a restaurant. Hot chocolate mixed with a bit of Kahlua and Grand Marnier.
Apparently, the one I mixed for my wife was a *wee* bit too strong... The other one was okay, though. Interestingly, I noted that some of the liquor in my liquor cabinet has been there a while. I've got a bottle of Grand Marnier that I received back in 1988... never been opened. Still. 'Cause there was another bottle of it that was opened... and the rest got poured into the sink last night. Did you know that if you leave a bottle of GM for too long, the cork inside can simply disintegrate when you try to open it? Me neither... and now we both do Be interesting to see what happens when we open the other big bottle. It may or may not be drinkable. Also found another bottle of Kahlua (bummer, since I just bought a fresh one) and two bottles of rum left over from our honeymoon... nearly 16 years ago. Wow.

Oh my! I'm guessing you may not want to drink GM with cork in it... and I'm not a fan of Kahlua so I can't tell you how it ages... but not sure I'd want to find out!

I filtered out the cork, to be sure... but at that point, I only had one other GM alternative
The kahlua wasn't bad... not bad at all...

Wow, I just got back from the best hockey game I have ever seen. It was 1-1 after the second period, 3-3 after the third, and the winner wasn't scored until 10 minutes into the fourth overtime!! Wide open, great game, the way hockey was meant to be.
Bungleau, really, the secret is to drink it all at once - that way you don't taste the cork, and if you do, you don't care!

Long time no post in the café for me. Should currently be working on a project, but am taking a short break. (on that note, anyone with Linux multitasking skills care to give me a hand? ) I've been okay otherwise, mostly kidnapped by real life, but still finding some time to take part in the rp forum (you know the one you rarely even scroll down to people )

Did we miss Someguy's birthday?
Hey everyone, was out of net commission at work for a few days, Verizon sucks LOL. Ooooh how I hate the new thing they have going now, where instead of "press this, press that", it's now you having to talk to the recorded voice. Gawd I'd rather hit the buttons than talk words to this stupid recording! At one point I said "No" to a question, and I guess my very slight country accent must have done something, cause it said "I'm sorry, I could not understand your answer, please repeat it." NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I said then. It got it that time. Sheesh. Why can't we just get actual live humans anymore?! |
