antryg, that is alot of people within your realm, sorry to hear this. Your a few years ahead of me and already it's happened in my life but only a couple times.
It doesn't matter either if you wrap your motorcycle around a tree when your drunk, still the drugs are the cause. Take care.

I appreciate all of the positive comments from everyone. I'd like to make some points of clarification. Ten of the people I know who died were "clients" when I worked as a live-in counselor at a halfway house for drug parolees. The other, and for me more important point, is that this post was a way for me to express my feelings and is not about the issue of drug use.
I lost someone who I had helped raised and was a son to me. It brought up past memories of a baby whose life I saved, and whom I loved, that died from the same cause. |

I'm so sorry Antryg . Especially for the loss of those you considered family but also those who were your clients. It must have been terribly hard and frustrating working in such a situation.
I don't know anyone who's died from drugs, but I do know people who use them. Very sad to think it might just be a matter of time

So sorry Antryg, to all those involved.
I have done drugs that I will never do again. They were a one-time only thing, and luckily I was fine. They were grade A (I've never done Heroin, Cocaine or anything like that- and never will). I'll never take drugs again, except weed, which I do smoke regularly. But thats only illegal as it cannot be taxed, it's harmless. No worse than alcohol. I dnt smoke cigs either. Being 18, I know what the drugs culture is like. So many of my friends do hard drugs regularly, and I try and get em to stop, but they won't listen til the worst happens to them or someone they know. My sympathies from England
