I know mage kits are the most powerfull but I don't want to play as a mage again. Whats the next most powerfull kit next to a mage?. I havn't the patience to bother with thieves and bards.I also dislike dueling.

I'ld say paladin : undead hunter or cavalier. Or a barbarian.

I really enjoy the bard kit's versitility... Especially if you have ToB... They are worth a try if you haven't, you might be suprised.

The monk! He sucks early on but late game he becomes killing machine cable of dealing out death with one blow, stunning opponents, and has very high saving throws. You'll have a few challenges early on with his disadvantages but they are fun to play. Their quivering palm ability is worth it alone.

I vote for the Monk as well, especially if you are taking an entire party through and want to play a different type of lead character. I also like the paladins - especially the cavalier or the undead slayer.

The Stalker. Far and away the best tank type kit in the game.
