How do you use a key????

Sorry for the entry level question but I am on the fourth stop on the map (lots of sprits and skeletons) I am trying to get into a locked chamber but it is locked -- I found the key in another portion of the "dungeon" I just have NO idea of how to use the key to open the door. HELP -- What a great game!!

Hello and welcome.
It sounds like your in the Vale of Shadows, if you are then there are 4 or 5 locked doors each with it's own key. If you have the right key then the door will open automatically. So keep searching and keep enjoying.
