My daugter has been playing this summer while scool is out. She recently got to Skull Castle and I watched her get as far as the bridge puzzle. I figured that she would be thee a while. Wrong! Ten minutes later (literaly) she is back telling me she is done. Naturally, I cant believe it. So I check and sure enough, she is back in town being credited for solving madda mabig. I asked her to show her enffebled old dad how. She did. She didnt bother with the bridges at all! She dived in and climbed the chains.

So did I, far easier, I wonder why they even bothered to include that puzzle when you can just climb the chains.

Not all players think about climbing the chains and she deserves some credit for the creative problem solving! Wyv |

Hey! I tried to climb the chains to no avail! I suppose I should've spent more on Athletics earlier in the game. I also had to pile up THREE Pirates Chests to climb on in order to get on the wall of Brimlock Roon to start tree surfing over to the Lost Sea area, and I had a dickens of a time doing THAT!

I too tried climbing the chains. I tried it with different characters that should have been able to climb but could not. I made sure that the character had a high Athletics level, too. I tried climbing and I tried jumping and climbing. Nothing worked for me. I am glad it worked for her, and hope it works for more people. But after several different games, I gave up trying to climb.

I agree, Knarfling. I've gotten so used to that puzzle anyway that I'm able to maneuver enough blocks to have "run and jump" work each time. As long as I get at least 1 block up on each side, I'm okay.

Even with my Valkyrie and Zenmaster I wasn't able to climb the chains. I thought I must be the only one who couldn't do it. Glad to hear I'm not alone.
Heh Dr. Pick did you really end up using THREE chests. I was hoping you could do it with one. That must have been a bit of a workout to bring three and then stack em! Ladybug Oh, I see where you told about it in The Boogre Bar! LOL!! [This message has been edited by Ladybug (edited 08-14-2001).] |
