Well, we've finished our Multiplayer TOB, and are all mad at Bioware, or at least at that little jerk at Bioware that wrote Viconia's end story. My husband is playing Planescape: Torment, which looks depressing to me, and my stepson is playing Combat Flight Simulator with his new joystick that he got for Christmas. I'm no good at flight simulator, keep crashing. I'm sure some of you have played PS:T. Do you think I should start a game or buy Pools of Radiance? I hear that POR is very buggy.

I've heard that POR2 is VERY buggy and has almost not story or NPC interaction, just a lot of VERY slow turnbased hack and slash.
PS:T on the other hand is almost 100% story and NPC interaction, you can even start up conversations with the people in your party, ask them for advice and such, learn about their past. Your Int, Wis and Cha also determine which dialogue options you have, and how big your chance of convincing people is. PS:T is the best RPG from Bioware/Black Isle so far. |

As for PS:T, you should try it. It is a very good game.

Planescape torment is a really great game
But since everybody already says that, I'll point out what you might see as downsides First The game is in 640x400 Which means you have a scroll more just like in BG1 Second You have a LOT of conversation, this can be seen as either a good or a bad point Third You have little control over your party, You control them but they all have set classes weapons and Armor which you often cannot change, and there be not to much choise in NPC's but they are all very unique Forth You get a set class in the start -> Fighter, later you can choose what you want to be, Thief, Mage or Fighter that's it so far Despite this it is a good game I just got stuck really early when i got BG2 and decided to finish that

Play it - most definitely. I got this as a present from my sister last Xmas - I was deep into W&W at the time and took a few months to get around to playing it. Your right that it looks a little depressing at first, but it sure develops into the best damn "god view" game I have come across. I usually like my RPG's as 1st person and turn based. Played BG1, but never managed to finish it, but when I played PT I didn't want to put it away.

PS:T starts out slow but ends in a BIG way. Its pretty much very traditional AD&D adventuring, since you spend much of your time looking for obscure references to your past and talking to the most unlikely people possible.. But the environment it puts you in is incredible. You get the feeling that you've been there before, and that someone (yourself) has been to every place you go just moments before you, while also feeling the thrill of exploring a new and unfamiliar environment. It CAN get rather claustrophobic, since most of it is spent entirely within cities and towns, but its amazing. Its the best traditional RPG that Bioware has ever come up with, bar none(even the Fallout Series!).
