Muslim Woman Sues to Wear Veil for License

This woman's claim that she should be allowed to practice her religion freely is correct. However, public safety must take precedence over her religious freedoms, in this instance. Besides, what good is a driver's license, a common form of identification, when you cannot identify the person in the photo?
Yes, I realize that the state may be overreacting after 11 September, but I strongly suggest she allow her face to be photographed for her license because that will be less painful to her and her family than her being held in jail for an extended period of time while someone tries to clear her of any terrorist-related activities. Think, woman...think!

Search for Texas Democrats Sparks Probes

I understand that situations like this often end with charges and counter-charges on both sides, but there is one thing that needs to remain clear: the Texas Democrats are the ones who were essentially committing dereliction of duty, from a democratic point of view. They are the ones who ran away; they are the ones who stopped the whole process upon which our government in founded! Actually, they should be issuing public apologies to their constituencies, not trying to claim a moment in the sun as "political saviors". How irresponsible!

LOL! He's over there with then- Texas Govenor George W. Bush who said he would look for diplomatic solutions to foreign-relation problems and that the U.S. shouldn't conduct any "nation building". At least Sharon finally got the nads to call an occupation an occupation.

Keep the veil, loose the license, it's as simple as that.

Put them all together and you get:
"Veiled Texan Democrats spark terrible occupation"

Ok, Veil is an "Optional" Cultural thing not a mandate by the religion (as per Islamic Scholar on ABC news) Drivers license = privledge not a right (in every state) Drivers License as ID, must be able to prove who's pic it is...can't do it with veil...so loose the veil or loose the priveledge of driving.

The Texas Democrat desertion of their post. I agree with what you said Azred.
Personally I think each one of them should be replaced and never allowed to hold office again. This goes for any group of people on either side that practice mass desertion in order to enforce the will of a minority view.

About Sharon.....ok how many years ago was he the blood thirsty jew on a rampage? Can people not learn from their mistakes? Perhaps he is in a better psoition to be less strict....being in command of a military puts some strange demands upon you.
