Like I said, they liked the interaction more than the hack-and-slash, so I had to mix other elements in. Still primarily hack-and-slash, though. You may be the one in control of the game, but if you expect others to have fun you have to adjust to their tastes and playing styles.

Woohoo! PnP! I'm having my first game this weekend, Sunday night...all night. In candlelight as well, which adds to the effect. I'm seriously looking forward, I've always played the games but never actually played Pen and Paper. I hope it's as good as everyone says!
Ah, the all-nighter. Another set of memories there (make sure you nap in the afternoon before, and drink lots of caffeine). I always loved the "past 3:00AM giggles" that would happen; someone would say something that you would find funny normally, but you were so tired for some reason it was absolutely hilarious (or maybe we were just weird like that ). Just make sure to bring your imagination, as that is what makes the game fun. I never played in candlelight; I guess it would help with imagination, but I imagine it will be a little hard to read the books.

Have fun!

Ahh, the good old times of my earlier PnP days

I don't know why, but I always had a lot more fun when I was younger playing it, better modules I guess. I used to go over to my uncle's in the early morning, about 10 o'clock or stay over for an all nighter. Be constantly wired on caffeine, and was always waiting for the one moment a monster would pop out so I could get to my hack 'n' slash

We both would like other people to play, but whenever we have, it's been... not as enjoyable. Someone I knew, who will remain to be anonymous, would either take a bathroom break every 5 minutes, or continously bug us, saying, "What if there's a monster around the corner?" It's D&D, of course there will be a monster around the corner!!

I've been playing for about 6 years and 5 months now, and I still have my same character I've been playing with since the beginning. He's only died, just one time, how you ask? Well, never go into a room and actually touch a big black globe when a riddle on the wall says "The answer is in the sphere." Of Annihilation that is

I'm bummed though, haven't been able to play in over 2 months. School has been sucking up so much of my time, but I have no fear. This Thanksgiving Break, I'm going over to play a little bit in Faerun and try out the newest edition of Gamma World

Amen to that, Gangrell! I haven't played PnP for about a month and a half, and i think my pally has become lonely. AH, but the ideas that come to you when you can't play, and therefore think about it while you should be doing other, less important things; school, homework, etc. I'm hoping to get to play in, oh say, 2005? It takes forever to get my group together!!
Anyways, omigod!!!! that video is one of the single funniest things i have ever seen! then again, it is about 12:30...some of our games were similar to that. Oh, and Nerull, we have some giggling fits late/early into the games, almost nothing gets done! Ah, the nostalgia...

And don't forget all the jokes about the setting and spells and such, and most of all, the funny things players do IN character.

Random ones: "I cast Levitate on this boat, and we all go sit in it, and we'll have a floating boat to sit in!"
"Troll can't stand acid, can they? If so, I run to the troll, and puke on him!"
"Sewers stink, I'm a noble cleric! So I will NOT go into the sewers!"
"Protection from pants? Locate pants? Summon pants? Remove pants?"

LOL! The first time I went through that, I didn't catch the joke. However, the second time through I caught it, and it was hilarious. Everything about it read "newbie players".
