Hi

Large areas of Denmark (and Sweden) has been without electrical power supply for several hours now. The railway transportation system, the elevators, the metro, television broadcast stations, bridges, airports are closed.

I do not know the reasons why, but I read somewhere that the power fallout started in Sweden because of the passing of a thunder storm.

Human technology can redirect the titanic flow of natural forces, but never defeat it. My sympathies to anyone who is currently in the cold and dark. I hope the weather is warm enough in Scandinavia at the moment to hold off the worst effects of this power outage

Oh, you mean this is some kind of conspiracy. We arrogant Scandinavians has to be punished for not adopting the Euro.

But why didn't the Britons have a blackout. Perhaps they were had part in the conspiracy...

BTW Hierophant it was a sunny afternoon with about 15 degrees Celsius here so it wasn't too bad.

Luckily my girlfriend was trapped along with me. We still got to our destinations though, but we have ride 7 or 8 different buses to get there.

That's easy. Even though Tony Bliar promised a referendum on the Euro we still haven't had a chance to vote.

So we haven't rejected anything yet!

As soon as a referendum is on the table, you better stock up on batteries and flashlights.

Well European Commission President Romano Prodi *did* warn that countries that stayed out of the EU would suffer a 'loss of power' - now you know what he meant...
