The Hunt for Elyssa

OK so here is my dilemma, I have finished off the nalga...found the
master serpent and did away with his evil ways.......now I am on the
evasive hunt for elyssa.

1st I want to know, before I continue on, is the skull key the master key....(the m.s. dropped it when he died)

2nd where is elyssa, I tried to take the short cut but it turn out
to be the long way.....I am now sitting in the first elevator room(w on the map) before you go and kill the naga........suggestions are much appreciated.

As I recall - the key you get from the Serpent Master should have worked in a lock in the elevator maze (not before the maze, IN the maze) and give you access to Elyssa.
