You need at least one more. Try having the alchemist caretaker making the extra one.

Hey Lady Avalon:
I was having the same problems and refered back to the Alchemists Handbook that you found in that very library. It says to put the Mandrake Root on a specific table (there are 3 tables). I believe that it says the easternmost table in the centre of the room, but i am not sure. Try every table until it works. But reading that book should describe, although not in the simplest of terms, where it goes. Good Luck? lata skata

Well i must not have helped at all in my previous post. You need at least four poisons, and i think you DO need 2 or so modified mandrake potions.
(i should read twice your post before thinking i knew the answer. whatever...) The chain tightening is normal, though. Just double check the table you are using. Thats all i can help you with. Sorry. lata

I am using the easternmost table and it's still not working. I can't even talk to the guy in the lab. I have even gone back to where I did it the first time where I only got one potion. I didn't have any problem with the poisons.

You only need to make the one potion. After you have your little "run in" (or run away) from the Eye of Set, find Nheero again and he will give you some of the potion.

Notice that - The easternmost table IN THE CENTER of room. not easternmost. It's second from right side - when you first time enter the room there are some potions - "histahi" (or something).

How do you make the poison potions... I can't even communicate with the alchemist, he just runs away when i try to talk to him. No one can intimidate him because their skills aren't high enough, and every time that i try to pull the other lever it pulls away really fast and hurts my char. Please help.

You need a high alchemy skill to make the potions yourself.
Failing that, you need a high intimidate skill (diplomacy MIGHT work if its high enough). If neither of those is working, you will probably need to hack in the poison potions AND the contaminated mandrake root. There is an earlier thread with the cheat code for the mandrake root. Sorry, don't have them at hand right away.
