I didn't want to do it but I broke down and killed him. It was well worth the effort though. My characters advanced so many levels I stopped counting. hehe

(sniffle)
Wyv (Oh, don't mind me - I just like all the nice NPCs and dislike that the game designers made it so rewarding to off them without any consequence) |

hahaha,
Hey Wyv, I know what you're sying. That's why I waited until I beat the game to kill him. All throughout the game I played it pretty sraight and just went along with the storyline but then I figured what the heck, he's there and I needed to advance my new Valkery and new Zenmaster. It really wasn't without consequence though. He put up one hell of a long, tough fight. It was actually one of the toughest fights of the game. I had to go to the tavern and lick my wounds for a long while afterwards. hehe |

I zapped THE OLD OAK TREE rather easily. I hit him initially where I found him in the clearing (Firestorm or Meteorstorm I believe I used). I then backed off out of the clearing, back gradually toward the beach. At one point, he stopped advancing behind some of the scenery. I then proceeded to whack him with more Fire & Meteor storm stuff. Eventually, he advanced again & I retreated again. I ended up back on the boat, moved off shore and back out south moving toward the open sea. He moved out in my direction and stopped in front of the boat. At this point I nailed him again and again with the Fire & Meteor stuff. Yes, he became firewood alright but it cost me virtually all the MANA flasks I had and was a long fight. Not to complain however, as 10.5 million EXP is hard to come by. Since I am sitting on over 500,000 gold I can buy all the MANA flasks I want I should guess. Maybe I should try the RESET ADVENTURES trick and see if I can chop him up again!!! By the way, while out in the water he made very little offensive attack effort and my 6 guys suffered no damage.

HMMMM....I use mana potions...course in the heat of battle I didn't notice how much mana they restored...but seems to me they did work...I did notice that I needed my magic users holding and using them for some reason....ie: my big bad fighters weren't able to access them and bestow the potions benefit's on a magic user...so I tend to keep them fairly evenly split up between my magic users...

1- You can't use them if you're playing solo. 2- You can't use them on yourself (I was never able to anyway) How to use: 1- put the potion in the inventory of someone that WON'T need them 2- Select that individual 3- Go to use/give 4- Select use 5- Scroll down all the way to the potion you want to use 6- Pressing CRTL, left click on the portrait of the character in need. 7- Repeat until from step 2 until you're happy Good luck. |
