Humans make good Monks. Stats for your Monk should be high dex, wis and str. Also for your rogue/ranger, I would take a look at Strongheart hafling. That is what i used. You get an extra feat in the begining and he's favored class is Rogue. Be sure to start him out as Rogue to get more skills points during creation. With the new rules, multiclassing takes on a whole new role. I'm currently working on a 4 person party and i'm mixing everyone a little bit.

Vassago Strongheart Hafling Rogue X/Fighter 4
will start him at as rogue, add 4 fighter levels and then finish off as Rogue. Mastery in small blades w/ weapon finesse, two-weapon fighting and amberdexterity.

Alessa Human Rogue 3/Monk X
I'm starting her out as a Rogue for 3 levels to get 2d6 sneak attack, then will finish her off w/ Monk levels. Feats for her will be Power Attack, Cleave, Great Cleave.

My magic users, I selected Half-Elf b/c they resist sleep and have +2 against Enchantment magic.

Lilyan Half-Elf Cleric X/Fighter 4
Start out as cleric of stormlord (i think) then add 4 fighter levels and back to cleric for finish. 4 levels of fighter will give her a boost in hps and additional feats. Will focus on Spell Focus & GF.

Nexus Half-Elf Sorc X/Fighter 4
Again, start out as sorc, pick up 4 fighter levels for HP and additional feats. will also focus on spell focus and GF feats.

No offense, but I think when Weebl said he wanted to multi-class his characters, he wanted real multi-class suggestions, not just a complete team of character with weapon specialisation...

Personally, I think Sorcerer/Druid is a VERY GOOD multi-class combo. Druids have some of the best attack spells in the game, mix that with sorcerer, and you have access to every damaging spells in the game, and a very interesting character.

Monk/Sorcerer is also nice, Or a paladin of mystra with mage levels.

Rogue/ranger is very nice, because both class can raise move silently and hide in shadows. It make a very good character that could be roleplayed as a scout/assassin/bounty hunter...

Welcome Weebl!

Seems like a good party. For the monk/cleric, I suppose it depends on whether you want to role play a healer that can take care of itself in a fight, or a fighter that picked up a few healing skills. For the first option, a drow female would probably be a good choice, and for the second, possibly a dwarf or half-orc. Of course, you could always take the in-between route with a human

Weebl, I've played a few ranger/rogues, so I think that I can speak with some experience on them.

1. You've got to ask yourself how much you care about ranger spellcasting. I suggest ignoring it, but you'll have to decide for yourself. Why do I mention this? You need to determine how much WIS you need.

2. As a ranger/rogue, skills are going to be very important. I suggest taking an INT of at least 14.

3. As a ranger/rogue, 2 weapon fighting is quite useful. And since you will have ranger levels and will most certainly be wearing light armor, you'll have access to the ranger class' dual wielding virtual feats.

4. Stats: Max out the DEX, set INT to 14. Take a CON of 14 or 16. STR is not that important for a ranger/rogue. 10 or 12 is sufficient. I suggest taking the Weapon Finesse feat since this will allow you to make your melee to hit rolls using your (already high) DEX bonus, instead of your lower STR bonus. Yes, this will limit your character to daggers and short swords.

5. Race: Either Human or Halfling works well. Human will give you an extra skill point per level. Halfling will allow you to start with a DEX of 20, instead of 18.

I like ranger/rogues. They are nice in 4 character parties. You get the rogue skills without totally sacrificing a slot to a pure rogue. Also, R/R's are stealthy assassins!

EDIT: On the level mix: Start as a rogue to get a nice start on your skills. Then I suggest going 50/50 for a while, perhaps to about ranger 4/rogue 4. I think that a rogue 6/ranger X allows for enough rogue skill points to manage while being a very dangerous fighter. There may be a trap from time to time that you won't be able to disable. If this bothers you then up the number of rogue levels.

Unless you really, really want to play a fighter-mage for roleplaying reasons, I'm of the opinion that wizards and sorcerors should be pure classed to that you can max out their high level spells.

If the use of a bow is important to you, then have the sorceror be a elf or a wild elf and get 1 point in Bow free. Or just use a crossbow. All mages can use a crossbow.

I've never worried about having my mages be great archers (or xbow or whatever). I view their use of a ranged weapon, while their primary physical weapon, to not be their primary skill. I see any hits they get as gravy.

Sure, you can take 4 levels of fighter to get access to some more feats. But some of those feats (i.e. Scion of Storms, Spirit of Fire) are dependent on you having enough 10 skill points in Spellcraft and taking fighter levels inhibits the growth of your skill in this.

I suggest an elf for your ranger. They get high dext too. But it's only a personal choice, because I dislike all the smaller races.
