Does anybody know how I can get past the Duchal Palace scene with just a solo thief? I've come this far without too much trouble, but it seems there are just too many doppelgangers to contend with. Thanks for any ideas.

hmm . . .
all i can think of off-hand is have you tried buffing up as far as you possibly can with potions and loading up as far as you can with potions of invisibility so you can backstab as much as possible? i've soloed a fighter/theif but that was using the tutu mod so she was pretty high level by then good luck |

Why not hide somewhere and let the Flaming Fist and Belt kill the dopplegangers?

That won't work. They will both die. Try luring them out one at a time, to the front door part. Then just kick their ass. Also, you could use ranged weapons on them and get some arrows of piercing or the like out.

poison, i remembered they're affected by poison - if you use a bow you could try arrows of biting in conjuncion with the other ideas

Thanks guys. After trying all your suggestions, I had the grand idea of picking up Quayle for a minute, and making him put one of the dukes in an Otiluke's Resilient Sphere for the duration of the battle. It worked very well, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're ever struggling in that fight.

i did that the first time i beat that fight - it was one of my proudest BG-lateral-thinking moments - i was washing the dishes at the time and i scooted upstairs to try it and it worked!
PS: the poison from arrows of biting work through ORS by the way . . . PPS: you decided against soloing then (ignore me) [ 11-24-2004, 03:46 AM: Message edited by: Armen ] |
