Hmmm, I was reading this news article and found out that 14 states allow a drivers license WITHOUT a picture, but it doesn't list the states.

It would be a great irony if this woman moved to one of those states and got a picture-free drivers license.

@ Cerek You make an interesting observation outlining this persons criminal past, but as you posted, when she was in real trouble, the veil came off.

I'm not so sure about that, Chewbacca. It seems this woman had more to hide than just her face. Here is a segment of a story about her from the Miami Herald..... "...Freeman, a convert to Islam previously known as Sandra Kellar, started wearing a veil in 1997. She had a mug shot taken without the veil after her arrest in Illinois in 1998 on a domestic battery charge involving one of twin 3-year-old sisters who were in her foster care. Child welfare workers told investigators that Freeman and her husband had used their concerns about religious modesty to hinder them from looking for bruises on the girls, according to the police records. The girls were removed from the home." I believe I also saw that this woman had been in trouble with Florida authorities on more than one occasion.

You implied that she may have had some ulterior motive to hide her face, but I think thats a speculative opinion based on circumstansial evidence. Of course you have the right to your opinion. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Just some info for ya Chewie [img]smile.gif[/img] A jury can find you guilty with nothing but circumstancial evidence. The way they portrey circumstancial evidence on TV, youwould think that it didn't matter..but you can be convicted on it alone [img]smile.gif[/img] I know....I helped convict a guy for murder on circumstancial evidence in San Diego County once. (We were wrong by the way...turns out he could have been innocent but the judge with held evidence from us so we had no choice).

According to MSNBC, the ACLU does have issue with the ruling. I believe in civil liberties, but I think the ACLU does more to hurt the cause then help it by finding EVERYTHING to be a violation of our liberties.

I am actually relieved to hear that the ACLU has a problem with it. Now I know the ruling was right.
