I was rummaging around a cupboard and found my old copy of 'Master of Magic' (MoM).
Anyway, Wiz8 has NPCs and MoM had heroes but MoM also had the ability to make your own weapons etc and just mused that it would have made Wiz8 even greater if you could do something similar. Not to create uber weapons to detract from, say, Z-Bo and Murasama Sword I hasten to add. The Gadgeteer should have been able to make a doublestrike dagger from two daggers except it was bugged, and, of course, can make double and triple Xbows. Just make him/her a little more useful during the first part of the game as he is a late developer. Just have a few more gadgets you could merge with good quality weapons etc, eg the enchanted broadsword. OK, it's a pipe dream and I need to get a life. Now if I can only get MoM working on Dosbox..... |

What Item Editor? Does it work? I often thought that the Boomerang Shiruken could have been beefed up slightly, eg a higher critical hit factor. J'aran I found Morrowind very frustrating to play due to the constant load times going from one area to another and the frenzied combat clicking. I did enchant some stuff though. Also, like you said, something like a laser pointer combining with the omnigun to give it greater accuracy. As you say though, keep on dreaming..... Oh, I think Variol asked about Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic in his 'Bruthas and Sistahs' thread. There you could build City buildings which allowed the creation of magical weapons etc. |

Yes, would have loved to have seen much more gadgets.
Something else which I would have liked would have been "cross-profession" benefits. By this I mean...

Yes, there is an Item Editor (does a few other things too) by Mad God at the Greatest RPG Fans forum. It's tricky to start, you have to rename it to .exe and then retarget it manually to Wiz-8 (its original version was W-7 only) but you can change all the physical stuff in the game to make it act the way you think it should...

Scatter
Thanks for the info. General question, has anyone used it to edit anything? If so, what have you edited? As I said, I would like the Bommerang Shiruken to have a better critical hit chance (after all you have to go through to get it). |
