You usually find the spells somewhwere in a 'chest' - make sure your Rogue has a
high Search ability I'm in same position (again) with 2 level 8 slots empty - but now I've got about a half dozen level 7 spells to choose from |

ratchild, I'm running a party with a sorceror and a wizard at this very moment.
Barbarian/fighter, Paladin, Battleguard of Tempus, Rogue, Sorceror, Wizard I'm not having any troubles to this point. My Barbarian and Paladin are my primary tanks. My cleric and rogue are both surprisingly good in melee as well. My cleric (sling), rogue (bow), sorceror (xbow), and wizard(bow) are all snipers. My sorceror's primary focus is on enchantment spells. My wizard is into the heavy duty area effect artillery. I wasn't really hurt early in the game either. Arming "mages" with bows/xbows allows them to save their spells for when they will do the most good. Also means that they can go longer between rests. |
