Condolences... er, CONGRATULATIONS! Having been married once, I was convinced it was an age old, honored institution. Well, I found out that I do not want to be institutionalized. But I am not bitter... well, maybe a little... Just keep in mind that marriage has been determined to be at the root of this country's divorce rate.

In all seriousness, best wishes to both of you. You'll love Chicago. It is the kind of town where if you are not having fun, you are probably dead.

Congrats! Married here since 1988. Back then me and my husband gathered round the ol' Commodore, then Nintendo/Sega, and finally in 1991 or 1992 upgraded to computer games. Back then I played games on a very RARE occasion (Maniac Mansion Day of the Tentacle), criticizing my husband's endless hours devoted to gameplay. Now years and years later, I am just as bad as he is. We now Both have our own computers and our own computer rooms. Somehow I got converted! As the saying goes, "If you can't beat them, join them"!. On that note, does your fiancee game?

Ah, I remember Maniac Mansion. I got as far as nuking the hamster and decided the game was just too weird for me.
Grats Smaug. I have a quote I'd like to use, but there might be kiddies reading, so I'll just stick with 'marriage isn't a word - it's a sentence'. Have a great life, mate. ; )

The Monkey Island series follows along the same path as Maniac Mansion, Armisael. "I have a chicken beak, a needle, and some pocket lint. MMMM, what to do what to do...

Hahah! Yeah, I've played a couple of Monkey Islands. Kind of like McGuyver for the PC.

Congrats, man. (I think) I got within two months once before I got my heart stomped on. I am WAY gun shy right now. I have a girlfriend who lets me go out with the guys, only asked to check her email before I start gaming on-line, only gets mad if I don't take her to the gentlemen's clubs, and I am still unable to think about it. We have been seeing each other for over 2 years now. C'est La Vie. Good luck!! If you are happy, I'm happy.

Congratulations on the engagement and the new job. I have been married for 5 1/2 years and it has been a great 5 1/2 yrs. I wish you both the best and hope it goes as well as my marriage has been.
