*snif* one week away from my final exams.. and I'm struck with a nasty case of the common cold. My throad hurts... I sleep bad and I have minor headaches on occasion. Now, I really can't afford such a disraction. But on top of that; I fear becoming seriously sick in my exam week. Which would be a major problem (any former Dutch students will understand why). So I'm hoping that someone has a good idea on how to beat the CC. Do I need alot of fresh air.. or should I stay inside? Which veggy's should I eat? Any suggestions are welcome

Which veggies to eat? All of them of course. However fruit is generally more rich in vitamine C. As for the symptoms there are several cures for those. Aspirin for head aches of course, and plenty of liquid is also good for you. Try and stay away from alcohol thuogh.

Garlic helps boost your immune system - get some odour free garlic pills.

Lemon and ginger tea helps unblock sinuses and ease a runny nose, inhale the vapours as you sip it.

Red sage tea with a pinch of cayenne helps ease a sore throat - sip it slowly.

Paracetamol is good for aches & pains and reducing a fever, but don't combine it with other remedies which may contain paracetamol, it can seriously damage your liver if overdosed.

Wow bad time for it! Poor baby . Like the others have said, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and take vitamin supplements (but not too many ), and paracetamol for headaches. Don't do exercise, and I really wouldn't try to study unless you feel like your head is clear - you're likely to just confuse yourself and stress which isn't good for your immune system. But I wouldn't worry about still being sick next week - colds don't usually last more than a few days, so be grateful it was this week and not next . Feel better soon though

Yeah! Jewish penicillin!
Actually my Jewish family swears by Chinese "hot and spicy" soup (I think that's what it's called). They all claim it'll clear up the sinuses within about 30 minutes.
