Here's an interesting topic. Who do people say you look like, celebrity-wise. I am not asking what you think, but what they say...that holds more ground. Anyway, I will start. And I am completely honest about this. I do not agree with what they have told me, but regardless, here it is... When I was 20, I was approached by a younger girl, maybe 16, at a church function. She told me that I looked like Brad Pitt, from the movie Interview with a Vampire. Having my hair done up sorta similar, I thought that this was the only reason, and I told her so, but thanked her for the compliment. She told me that it was more than the hair. It was that thing with my eyes...but she stopped there, as she began to embarrase herself, I suppose. Later, about a year and a half later, I was in Mexico. Now, those on this forum that know any spanish , know that it is difficult to pronounce my last name, Woodruff, in Spanish. The W and O tend to make them wanna say Gu...anyway, One young lady, after failing to pronounce my name right, told me that she would instead call me Tom Cruise, as I looked like him. I laughed and said, "No, cierto..", but she she insisted that I did, and from that time forth, called me Tom Cruise everytime she saw me. Now, into the present day. Last week, I was up in Underwriting Department, and one of the ladies said, "Oh my gosh! I just realized who you look like! The lead singer for Smashing Pumpkins!". I told her that I did not know what he looked like, as I do not have a TV, and she responded that he shaves his head, but if I shaved my head, he and I could pass as brothers. Now, your turn!

My wife tells me I remind her of Leon Russell...well, at least, Leon Russell during the "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" days.

Ever since I grew a goatee people tell me I look like Metallica's lead singer James Hetfield. Then when I cut off my long flowing locks I thought the constant comparisons would stop, but no more than a month later their record "Load" came out and guess what... he got a haircut too...

LOL, J'aran!!
Larry, whoa! Those are three completely different looking guys! You must have an elastic face or something But they are all quite flattering, even Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins singer - I had a crush on him as a teen, LOL!) As for me, when I still had my haid dyed black, I have been compared to Moira Kelly as Laura Palmer's friend Donna in David Lynch's Fire Walk With Me (Twin Peaks the Prequel) and Morticia Adams (kinda obvious, often got that comparison when wearing black dresses and the like). But in my current incarnation I don't think I look like any celebrity. Oh wait, when I braid part of my hair and my ears peek through my boyfriend thinks I look like an elf/Galadriel But that's probably just wishful thinking on his part

Well, this is the truth. And I guess there must be something to it because at least five different people in different situations (some of them complete strangers) have said that I look like Marilyn Monroe. I just hope they are talking about when she was alive. I just think it is because I always wear alot of lipstick and have blonde hair. But, there you go.

quote: ROFLMFAOPIMP!!!!!! *choke* I don't think anyone has ever said that I look like anyone famous. I do have a friend who seems to feel that she *has* to compare people to celebrities, and usually comes up with really strange comparisons that are way, way off the mark. If *she* hasn't labelled me, I think it's safe to say that I don't really look like anyone. Oh, I look a bit like my dad - and only one person I ever met had heard of him from his days as a jockey, so that doesn't really count... (also he's thinner than me!) Hey Melusine! Sounds like you and I should get together, then...
...especially if you favor the elf Galadriel. (insert purr here) |
