Sorry to drag this back up - but I've just got to work (everyone's been busy whilst I've been asleep).

I think that there is a problem with "English" people (I'm a typical example of white "pure" English - as I said in a previous post I can go back probably a dozen generations at least before finding a non-british relative) in that there is no national identity - the Celtic nations have very strong national identity (own languages, national anthems, desire to overthrow the English oppressors etc) whereas England sometimes seems to exist only as part of Great Britain. Thus it's very easy for a small number of immigrants to impose their own culture on an area (good for diversity). I think the conflict occurs because there is no symbiosis (is that the right word?) the two cultures don't mix - they merely co-exist.

The really scary thing is that in the election yesterday - the British National Party (rascist scum) managed to get over 25% of votes in Oldham - when you consider that "Ethnic Minorities" also voted (presumably not for the BNP) that means something is very wrong.

As to what to do - it's taxed better minds than mine.
