I've settled for a custom Breton battlemage type character. But I need help deciding which armor skill to pick:

Go for Intelligence Speed and pick Shortsword and Unarmored
OR
Go for Intelligence and Strength and pick Longsword and Heavy or Medium Armor

Any inputs welcome. Thanks in advance

it's up to you really. just put the one that you think you will use the most.

I personally prefer Long Sword and Heavy Armor.

good morning warhammer

some peeps find heavy armor to be too much. too consuming of your fatigue points and too great of a drain on speed. if you want a fast char, i say go with light armor and unarmored.

but i have my assassin who thrives on moving fast and wearing as little as she possibly can. there are some nice robes in the first to mid part of the game that make the unarmored very worthwhile.

it depends on your style, luv.

Thank you both!

Vesselle I would give much to see the above mentioned assassin running around almost naked
She's a lovely blond, if I know you right (The Blond Brigade from Wiz 8 !)

warhammer!
::gives you a big hug:: how sweet of you. you remembered! that deserves a kiss.

actually tho, this time she's a dark elf with long red hair. but yes, she's definitely usually topless, thanks to the topless plug-in. she's very efficient, so i don't foresee her spending her money on much besides boots and weapons.

I have yet to play a pre-generated class. So this is what I did:

Determined what I liked. What my goals were. How the class is to be played. I call my class a NIGHT WIZARD.

She's Breton (Elspeth). Because she's Breton, she has a relativly LOW starting strenght of 30. She was born under the sign of The Lady.

As all that HEAVY ARMOUR is HEAVY, it was ruled out by the choices. MEDIUM ARMOUR was an alternate choice to LIGHT armour. But it would impair my ability to sneak, and it's sort of heavy too.

I picked the following skills:

Major Minor
Light Armour (AG) Short Blade (SP)
Alchemy (IN) Illusion (PR)
Enchant (IN) Acrobatics (ST)
Alteration (WL) Destruction (WL)
Sneak (AG) Restoration (WL)

To determine what abilities to enhance, I assign 1 point to a Major category attribute and 1/2 point to a Minor category attribute.

AG = 2 + 0 = 2.0
IN = 2 + 0 = 2.0
WL = 1 + 1 = 2.0
SP = 0 + .5 = 0.5
PR = 0 + .5 = 0.5
ST = 0 + .5 = 0.5

As AG and IN were both "2" in the major category, I chose them over WL.

Had I gone more toward the Battlemage influenced character, I would have gone with MEDIUM ARMOR and LONG SWORD. SNEAK would be replaced with ATHLETICS. I would have chosen MYSTICISM over ILLUSION. ALCHEMY would become a MINOR skill, while DESTRUCTION would be major.

But then, that wouldn't be me...
