I joined this forum to find help on Wizards and Warriors. Since I've finished that game, I've moved to the General Discussion board. I like it because everyone here seems to be respectful to eachother and considerate.

I joined in either August or September of 2000. Only Wyvern, Sazerac, Rikard, and Ertai are older than I am (That I am aware of)...though I only see Rikard and Ertai rarely anymore.

The member number we currently posess does not actually mean when we came aboard. It means that Yorick, for example, beat me to the transition from Blue-board to Brown-board. I was not available that day to log on and get my reservation in. On the other hand, I beat Rikard to it, so my member number is earlier than his...though he was here a good three months on IW before I was. The member numbers only apply to when we became members of the Brown-board society, not when we became slaves to Chocolate's fancy.

I vaguely remember the blue board, since I was mainly a lurker who didn't visit often back then.

One day I came back, and had to sign up for the brown board. I used to just be "Ronn", but after forgetting the password and being too ignorant to ask for help, I signed up again under my current name.

Blue Boarders RULE, baby!

I was coming to IW for awhile before I ever joined the forums. My friends had all bought Baldur's Gate and were constantly telling me how great it was. So I finally caved in and bought it. Then discovered that I needed help. So I found IW after having some unpleasant experiances at another well known site....Coughteambgcough.
So I was a regular downloader and cheat searcher here for a bit. I looked at the blue boards but, never posted.

Finally I decided to join up and the boards had turned brown by then. I wasn't sure I was at the right place at first. But I was. Then, as I recall it the boards crashed hard and we all had to re-register. Melusine, Larry, Epona and Ziroc do you recall that? I think thats why alot of us have the March 2001 date for membership.

Question Mark

I too lurked on the old blue board for BG1 help. Didn't register until BG II and the brown change, but forgot my logon. Then registered with this name.

I landed at Ironworks around July-August 2000, but lurked for a month or so unable to post. What drew me in was both an Aussie thread - there were heaps of Aussies... I had no idea - and a thread about members spouses who played BG2. I was taken by the openness of the communique and the maturity of the members.

I had a number of fantastic conversations with Moiraine around that time. When we all gathered to "Give Moiraine a hug" after her car accident, a tangible move towards community was in full swing.

Other members I remember from that time were:
Memnoch,
Armisael,
Ertai,
Wah,
Melusine,
AngryLilman,
Larry,
Ladyzekke,
Cloudy,
Wolfgir,
Relic,
StealthBomber (Suul Yinn),
Draconia,
Rikard,
Asphyxiate M'all,
Black Knight,
Tobbin,
Bahamut (Baa2Ryan),
Harkoliar (Zorotorak),
Reeka,
Charlie,
Jerome,
Donut son of Donut,
Hellfire,
Charean,
Idiot-thief,
Adam Warlock,
Sazerac,
Turbovee,
Vikotnik,
Morodin,
Archlich Azuth (Gabriel)
Slackerboy,
Epona,
Lady Avalon,
Draggor,
Robert the Bard

I'm sure there were others, but at 1:40am that's all I can recall off the top of my head.

I never spoke with Moggl though.

Re. the brown board, it was up in Jan 2001, when I managed to squeeze a registration in before it collapsed. It came back up in March 2001 when most others like Larry etc. got in. I tried to register as Yorick but lo! Someone else had registered as Yorick?! Who would do such a thing? It was Memnoch who reminded me of the January registration....

Like most people, I lurked for a good 2 months or so before deciding to join. I think it was September 2nd, 2001 when I registered. I posted a lot in the BG2 forum before my migrating to Gen Con where I have stayed ever since. I sometimes stray to the Poll, books, and Misc. rpg forums but my home is Gen Con

EDIT: Are there any other people who joined in September 2001? I have only seen 2 other people ever!

Exactly Larry - and because I was not on the ball I got a lowly number like 53 or something.

I joined the board slighly later than Larry - I traced my first post to October 6 2000. In those days there was no GD, so you were either a W&W poster or (shudder) a BG1 poster . It took the arrival of GD for the twain to meet

We used to use Tales of the Sword Coast forum (It had it's own forum) for our OHF meetings and other spam.
