I think it's the salt in those hideous dried out pork rinds that gets most people addicted. I've never though been addicted to the ol' pork rind, quite a greasy acquired taste I guess for some, but Gawd help me I love a good Bugle or ten.

I just hope you had "fresh-made-buy-them-at-the-farmers' market-type", and not the bagged ones you get in a store.
