Thats pretty much how i see it.

Gas expands when being heated. In the core of our planet hollow space aroused, and a part of gas went outside. Big gas throwing out took place in the North and South Poles. Deep big holes aroused there.

Now if the interior of the earth was made of gas and it reached sufficient pressure to breach 50km of the earths crust we would be looking at 100s of kms wide holes here. The oceans would have drained away. Or have they been mystically pluged? [img]tongue.gif[/img]
The tectonic plates that make up the earths crust 'float' (allowing movement) on magma that makes up the earths mantle. If the magma was replaced by gas there is less force to keep the plates up (since the gas cant build up pressure due to the holes at the N & S poles) so the earths crust would probably implode (the only thing thing that could keep it up would be friction between plates which wouldnt be strong enough against millions of tonnes of rock).

Lava. How do you get lava when the centre of the earth is gas?

Currently for every 100ms into the crust you get an increase of 3 degrees C. So if the surface temp is 15 degrees and the max livable temp is 50 C you could only go a max of around 1.2km below the surface. Any further and you would probably be crushed anyway. And with a sun at the centre of the earth the temps would rise alot more.

Who ever wrote that has no idea about human nature. Limited resources that would come from living underground would lead to conflict.
