I'm not sure this would so much be a spoiler, but I'll give warning firsthand just in case: POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW!
* * * * * * * * * * * Ok, so I added Imoen to my party when I finally met back up with her in the Asylum, and disband Jan. The only option I was able to give Jan was "That is not possible, wait here for me and I will come back if I need you." or whatever (that may not be word for word there). AKA, I wasn't able to give him the option of: "Wait for me back at your house in the slums.", which makes sense from a roleplay standpoint, since we're on an island and that'd be a h*ll of a swim for someone so shortlegged. My only problem though is... I LIKE Jan... and now the guy is stuck back in the Asylum while all the rest of us are way past back on the mainland. (in chapter VI now) I've gone back to his house in the slums just to be double certain that he didn't get back by his own means, but he hasn't.. ![]() So someone burst my bubble... is Jan forever lost since I had to leave a party member behind in the Asylum to regroup Imoen? Is the only way to avoid this to take a 5 person group as opposed to 6 when doing that area? |

(SPOILERS!!)
. . . . V there are a few ways to remedy this, but you'll have to dump someone off for a while to do it. Option 1: drop a member off somewhere. then CLUA yourself into the asylum basement (don't know code) and pick him up. then CLUA yourself back to your original starting point, and tell him to go home. Option 2: next time, take Yoshimo instead of Jan. Yoshi will leave the party, making room for Imoen, and you'll get a 200,000 point XP bonus later. Option 3: only take 5 people to spellhold. this is the nice way to do it, but can mess you up if one of the 5 is Yoshi, since he leaves, making you only have 5 people after. Option 4: just think to yourself that it's just a game, and imagine that you saved him. my suggestion would be #2 next time, and #1 now.

hehe, odd that you mentioned #4.
I had been imagining to myself how Jan likely got out of the Asylum, made his way across the bridge back into the pirate town, and planted a nice little turnip crop on the side of the mountain - ensuring that he'd forever be constantly in trouble with the locals. And they all thought the PIRATES were bad! |
