Maybe an ennemy mage summoned Nurushu (maybe bad spelling) If you din't download the patch when a mage summmons a Nurushu or it's weaker counterpart it will re-energize you magic items once there at 1 (and will probebly eat you non-charge items becareful)

This Nurushu things has to be one of the worst things in the game. I had the patch and my items still got eaten. Its like hear is the one and only
"insert item here" in the game. I took me 4 quests to do and cost me "insert X amount of GP here". Oh look a Nurushu I will fight it. You beat it and then save your game, only to find that the item that took you a week in RL time has disappeared. |

I agree. There are many screwed up things in BG2, like level draining and Nishruus and Haekshars(sp)..
Its even worse when you have no idea what just disappeared. ------------------ Why? |

ever controled a vampiric mist before? Those thing are filled with spells. either a the Bg scripter got lasy (or rushed at last min) and used the same script as a Nurushu or there planing to make a greater Vampiric mist in the future (It had, summon 3,Flesh to stone, raise dead, cloud kill, pierce shield just to name a few)

Those Nishruu things are truly, truly HORRENDOUS things.
Worked my ass off to raise 25000 for the Robe of the Good Archmagi for Nalia. One slight brush with a Nishruu, & WHAM, it's gone. I was so annoyed I abandoned the game & completely restarted with a new character. (I too had no pre-Nishruu save games by the time I noticed what was missing). ------------------ Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so. |
