hey folks!

just a quick question, with heart of winter installed,is the maximum level that a multiclass character can reach 15/15 (to a total of 30) or is it 30/30???
If it was 30/30, wouldn't that mean that dual or multiclass characters would be better than single class ones?????

Although i suppose single class chars will level up faster...

But imagine it! A lvl 30 Fighter/lvl 30 Mage........

Or a triple multiclass.....

Cheers,

Moiraine Sedai

It will be 30/30.

However... getting the necessary XP to get there is another matter. HoF mode beckons, or you can do the cheesy thing by re-importing.

You should be able to reach 30th level in HOW with a solo single class adventurer on normal difficulty. For a larger party of 5 or 6, Dundee is right - Heart of Fury mode is DEFINITELY required. A triple class multi-class character requires a MINIMUM of 16,500,000 xp to reach 30/30/30 and a fighter/mage/thief requires a whopping 22,500,000 xp to reach that level - but it IS doable although it may ALSO require that TolM be installed. Unless you use the export/import trick.

If you did the math in theory you could have 6 normal class up to Level 30, 3 dual class up to level 30 or 2 triple class up to 30...but it depends which classes you take

If trying to reach 30/30 or 30/30/30 i would suggest HoF mode like dundee said. a lot better than importing and exporting characters. plus, it will make the game more challenging instead of easier.

Thanks for the fast response!

Just one more question: do most of you guys start a new game with lvl 1 chars for HOF or do you export some higher lvl ones? If so, what lvl would be ideal?

Thanx

I always start from level one, even if it is on HoF mode. It makes life... very exciting at the start instead of, "Oh look... another Goblin to squish.".

I love starting from level one every time, as I enjoy the early uncertain struggles for existence immensely...a thought which reminds me of Bard's Tale and that thought in the back of the mind which wonders "Am I strong enough to enter this area now?"...

I'm up to a particularly gorgeous moment in the game with the Fire Salamanders, just after Wyrm's Tooth. I'm out of magical missile weapons, all characters are fatigued, half to three quarters hit points drained...I have a bad habit of punishing them with sleep deprivation! Still three badges to go...

Has anyone tried playing this game wasted upon some form of psychedelic substance...by the gods its like pure survival instinct! I wonder if this is how my cat feels when he's hunting?
Oh, how I must return to the wilderness!

All my Dungeons,
CerebroDragon
