Somehow, something from xupiter.com has infested my internet. Now, whenever it can't complete a connection, it loads a xupiter.com page, which is annoying, because when you go back, it goes to the page which couldn't load, getting xupiter.com, and so on. I've tried getting spyware removers and such, but it won't leave. Not to mention that their customer "service" reps have been ignoring me for some weeks now. I'm getting sick and tired of this crap. Can anyone help me at all.

PS: I can disable the toolbar, but I can't uninstall it. Also, no matter what I set my home page to, it always resets to xupiter.com. ARG!

Xupiter exe. will be in its own folder but I can't remember where. Search for the folder. You can't delete it if you are connected to the internet in any way. You might have to turn off your modem.

Supposedly the most recent version of ad-aware addresses xupiter.

Upgrade, boot up in safemode and run ad-aware.

If that doesn't remove what you need, try manual deletion while in safemode.

EDIT-To make more sense..lol.

Try deleting the file when you aren't actively connected and that may do it. If you get the famous red circle/white cross then you should probably wait for better advice than what I can offer. One of my sons got that on my computer and it took me 3 days to track it down and get rid of it. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly what I did. Where have you been surfing TM?

Actually it was my brother...his preferred approach to the internet is to just accept any incoming cookies, programs, etc. We think he is the direct cause of at least 3 viruses.

Use ad-aware if you don't want to have problems again: www.lavasoft.nu
