The only reference to climbing skill is "Athletics" but I can't say it has helped my Samuri with ladders etc. -- Trees? I did try to climb up on top of the Shrine and have wlked all over ol'Cet's Tomb.

You can't get started with tree surfing just anywhere. I never tried it at other towns, but when you leave Brimloch Roon, and stand on the little wharf where the ship is (was) parked, turn to face the gate (I stood a little to the right of centre) look UP and JUMP. Might take a few goes. My active character had athletics skill of 12 when she attempted this, but I don't know if that was important for success.

Make sure you have the Call of Home spell before you attempt this - my party fell off a couple of times (to places not otherwise accessable) and the only way out of those places was by Calling Home!
