Smiley

Ok...these have me baffled.

1. Does anyone know what "dutch" corresponds to in the song by Missy Elliott?

2. In the remake of the Who's song "Behind Blue Eyes"...Limp Bizket has a break where a recording of a man is spelling something and there is a woman dubbed over him also saying something. What are they spelling/saying?

According to Lyrics On Demand, in #2 they say "Discover L.I.M.P., say it."

BTW, that part of the chorus sounds a lot like a Speak&Spell by TI.

Well, isn't it obvious ? Pass the Dutch can mean nothing else but the joint or something.

As johnny quite rightly points out, 'Dutch' refers to a joint.

Similarly a song from way back by Musical Youth, 'Pass The Dutchie', had the same meaning, despite the fact they claimed all innocence and said a dutchie was a cooking pot - yeah right, didn't fool me

It's an old jamaican/reggae slang for a 'cooking pot'. It was made famous back in the 80's by a five piece British ska group called musical youth who made sold over four million copies of the song 'Pass The Dutchie'. It was originally going to be 'Pass The Kouchie', which is a slang word for joint, but was changed to Dutchie
