Computer Problem

Something is wrong!

Almost every time I try to run IWDII, my screen goes black for a short sec, and then the window minimizes down to the start bar. I think this started after I downloaded WeiDU, but that I have uninstalled by now.

What could be wrong? I am slightly desperat...

Well olerus welcome to the boards and I am sure that there will be some very qualified people around to help you. But have you tried to run some spybot programs to find any little devils lurking inside your computer.

Try and uninstall the game and then install it over again. WeiDU might have modified or deleted some of the files needed to run the game.

Thank you all for welcoming me!

The thing is that I have been able to run and play it a few times. And for not long ago I cleanded my PC for spyware and installed anti virus and firewall etc. Could some critters have followed WeiDU when I downloaded it?

Where can I get spybot and/or ad-aware?

I have tried to reinstall, yes.

Those are both excellent programs. I use them routinely. [img]smile.gif[/img]

As for IWD2, pay careful attention to the order that you install WeiDu and the IWD2 patch. Installing them out of sequence can have nasty consequences. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Together adaware and spybot detected 40 problems!
And after I restarted my PC IWD seems to work as well!

Alas!

The problem is back. Last night I was able to start and shut down IWDII as many times I wanted, but now I am no longer able to enter Icewind Dale, AGAIN!!!

I get this message saying that the program does not respond and the "End Now" thing.

Also I reckon it will be hard for any of you to understad how to fix this but what else can I do other than seek deliverance within this forum...

Computers suck!
