help with umar hills

i have 2 problems,i am in chapter 2
1)i talked to someone and they told me about some chicken with stuff in them so i killed the chickens to get the stuff and the people attatcked me and they were killed now everyone attacks me in town and if i kill them my party members leave how do i fix this?

2)i can figure out where to kill the wolves i killed the creatures in the cave but when i go to mayer he say's to continue to help him that i promised to stop whatever was killing the towns people where are the wolves or whatever it is that kills everyone?

i have talked to the ogers and united them with the town and i have valker(or whatever his name is)in my party went to the rangers cabin 100 time can anyone help?

1. Go to a previous save. Instead of killing the hens, talk to the farmer, and ask him straight out about the gem. Then he will give you the gem, and leave.

2. Go to the south-west corner of Umar Hills. There you will find the rangers cabin. Go inside, see you a little around, and you will find:
1. The rangers diary (read to understand a bit more)
2. A note from the paladin Mazzy Fentan. (read it to understand even more) A map will be drawn there, so your world-map updates, and gets the area 'Temple Ruins'. Go there to continue the quest.
