I'm looking for a new game. Not crazy about FPSs but Deus Ex seems very RPG-like. I'll try the demo before I consider buying, of course. Still would appreciate hearing your opinion of this one. Looks very promising.

Bah Djinn... Deus Ex is a cool game, a bit dated though, but still really good, for the graphics problem, download a D3D patch, (direct 3D to utilize the directX7 drivers) and you will have no problem. This is by far the best RPG/Shooter on the market. One of the main things making this game really good is that you can solve most problems (hey, itīs a cyber game, no quests here ) in most fashions, you can build (with time) a ladder to clim on using crates and good strength and jump over a fence, or hack your way throuh the computer and opening it or why not do it the quake way and blast your way through or.. the thief way, wait and use your opical camoflage sneaking after guards.

The game makes you better and better and most skills are really good to have at some point, usually you can benefit more from tools and equipment that you need to get to places. The game has a pretty good story with alternative endings and even though the graphics is a bit old, you will get some good hours of gameplay in this game. It takes a bit of time to get used to but itīs well worth that time to get used to!!

Yeah, Max Payne is a cool game and all, and compared to each other.. Well hard one, Deus Ex is the one I have more "feelings" for actually.
Ask Memnoche! He liked that game as well!

I 100% agree! It is excellent, quite definately the best FPS I have ever played as it has so much more in depth interaction with the environment. Also much greater character building (skills, augs, weapon mods, etc).

Its just an overall cool game. Very replayable too. I played it numerous times just to check out other skills and augmentations.
