This is a rehash of my earlier posting regarding the musket and the blunder buss: I have equiped both the weapon and the musket balls, still a no go. When I right click on the weapon, it tells me that it has 0/1 or 0/2 for shots. Both of my guys have modern weapon skill, one at 44 and one at 23, and the weapon still does not work in combat. What gives? I don't want to get rid of the weapons, but I may have to if I can't get them to work.

Do you have the ammo equipped in the proper slot on the right side of the screen? If the gun is in the main primary slot (closest to the character) the ammo has to be in the secondary slot also closest to character.

If the number on the weapon is zero there are no bullets loaded... to manually load you have to drop the bullets on the weapon, that will load it... it will reload as long as you have bullets in your offhand.
If you run out, you'll have to load manually again. Signed, One sick Psycho
